11.30.2009

I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday - ours was good even though my son ended up with a double ear infection & my husband had 5 teeth pulled :) Definitely not quite a relaxing holiday - as I spent most of it playing "nurse" :) Still, it was nice being with family:)

As many of you know I announced on my sketch site that I would not be continuing with it in 2010 - I have such mixed emotions about this but truly believe in my heart of hearts I am making the right decision.  What will I do with all those Sundays in 2010???  Probably scrap :)

On to something special to share - Tara over at Magpie Club asked if I might try my hands at a 2-pager for December.  Now I have not done one of these in like 2 years & honestly I was a bit intimidated to even try but I am so glad she asked me to - I am really happy with how it turned out & loved the opportunity to use larger pics on a multi-pic page :)  First let me entice you with the sneak of this fabulous kit - it is FULL of all things holiday - right up my alley :)

Here is my two page sketch - my first one :)  A bit of a challenge to figure it all out in Photoshop but I did it :)

And here is my sample based on the sketch - everything here is from the Main Magpie kit which is up for sale tonight - this WILL go fast so make sure to grab it before it is gone!!

A few close-ups :)

Also - thanks to everyone for sharing all the wonderful things they are thankful for - my randomly chosen winner is LindaR!!

Let me preface this by saying when I used this title on the layout you will see below I meant it as, when I think of all the moments that make up my memories - you are my favorite.  Of course I showed this to my husband & he said "It seems like the title would reference someone who is gone - I don't know if this works for this pic" - then I was like oh goodness are people going to think Ryan (my son) is gone?? Ahhh!!! He's not :)  Guess I did not think this title through enough :(  I really tried to think about how I could possibly change the title, short of re-doing the whole layout.  Unfortunately I sewed on the layout which makes changing the paper too tricky.  I think the title is stuck there - I guess it is just important that I know what was meant by it - right??  Anyways -  This is my last layout for my DT work over at Jen's House of Scrap.

Jen's adorable kit went up for sale today - check it out here :)

Anyone interested in winning $300 worth of Imaginisce & Glue Arts products??
That's right, just become a fan of Imaginisce and Glue Arts on Facebook and post on their walls, "I'm a Fanatical Facebook Face-Off Fan" to be entered.  What a fab prize - right??

Well, I shopped it up tonight to find a dress for the wedding we are attending tomorrow - got lucky at Nordstroms - thank goodness :)  Amazingly I found size 11 dress shoes too - big foot over here :)  The price of being tall :)  Hopefully I will get some pics of my hubby & I for once & I will make sure to share - maybe I will actually have a recent pic of him & I to scrap then!!!

I do have another sketch/challenge to share with all of you as promised in the last post.  Cecile over at Scrapbook Studio sent me this wonderful kit full of fall fun.

I had this great pic of Ryan and I from this fall (a rarity to get a mommy pic - I'm usually behind the camera) & found it perfect for this collection of scrappy goodies. Here is my November sketch for Scrapbook Studio:

And here is my take on it using the fab November kit from Scrapbook Studio :)

Cecile is running a challenge with it in her forum - check it out here.

I also had the pleasure to work with the November kit over at Jen's House of Scrap - such an awesome mix manufacturers.  Here are my first two creations:

The kit is up for sale on the 15th - there are some sneaks up now, but be looking for the full reveal here this Sunday!!  Hope everyone has a great weekend & thanks for reading!!

11.10.2009

I want to begin by sending out a BIG thank you for all the warm wishes & congrats in my last post - it was so nice of all of you to stop by & comment :)  I can't believe it is already almost the middle of November - the year is flying by so quickly!!  I have tried to get my "rear-in-gear" so to speak & go back to running daily.  Once upon I time I ran 4 - 5 miles a day & was about 15 lbs. thinner - but recently - well - that is not the case.  This was all jump-started by a wedding this weekend & the upcoming struggle to find something to wear - probably should have started sooner than 5 days before the wedding - right???  Anyways - we live basically in the woods but we have a very long driveway that leads to a small neighborhood.  I have been waking up at 5:30 the past 2 days - still a bit dark out - and today I was almost run over by some strangle animal coming out of the woods - bigger than a fox/raccoon - smaller than a deer.  Honestly, it looked like a furry pig - needless to say - I headed back inside to the treadmill :) Sometimes you have to err on the side of caution - not looking to be attacked by a strange animal in the wee hours of the morning :)  Anyways - my little excitement for the day :)  On to some scrappy stuff . . .

I rarely scrap pages about myself and/or friends but this gorgeous November kit Pam put together over at My Creative Scrapbook just screamed for pics of me & my best friend :)  Love the black, white & teal combo & especially loved the transparencies!!

Here is the sketch I came up with for their November kit:

And here is my sample:

And a few close-ups to show the details - love the effect of the paper tearing around the circle :)

My Creative Scrapbook will be posting a challenge using this sketch later today - make sure to check it out in the challenge section of their forum :)

I also had the fortune to work with Mimi's adorable November kit over at That Scrappy Girl - full of Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg goodies - this one simply made me smile :)

I created this multi-pic sketch for their kit this month -

And here is what I came up with . . .

A little detailed pic of the journaling . . .

That Scrappy Girl is running a challenge on their blog with this sketch during the month of November & there is an awesome Cosmo Cricket prize - check it out here :)

I will be back tomorrow with some more DT work, sketches, and challenges to share :)

Bad blogger - I know - my family & I have been under a cloud of sickness :) Hoping to feel better tomorrow :) Anyone looking for some extra sketches to get you motivated??  You've come to the right place :) Over the next couple days I will be sharing some sketches & layouts I have done for my November DT work. Tara, from Magpie Club, sent me this GORGEOUS kit to play with :) Loved the color scheme going on of teal, black, and pink (you don't see it here but it is in there) & all the neat embellies.

Seeing this kit made me jump right into Photoshop to edit my pics & print me out some black & whites (although totally versatile for color pics too).  Here is the sketch I came up with:

And below, my sample using this fab kit:

Make sure to head here to read all about entering in the Magpie November sketch challenge!!

I also received this FABULOUS kit from Michelle at Color Me Daisy.  Totally made me feel all warm & toasty with such a fantastic array of fall themed products.

I had some great pics of Ryan having fun outside in the leaves so I printed those off & got to work :)  Here is the sketch:

And here is my layout using this beautiful kit:

Hope you had a fabulous Wednesday!!
