Did anyone else have a GORGEOUS weather weekend??? 70s & sunny all weekend only to end today with rain :( We definitely enjoyed it while it was here though :) We spent the weekend doing a bit of spring cleaning & totally "purged" the garage of all the stuff that had piled up over the winter. Finally we can fit our cars in there!!! I did manage to fit in some scrappy time :) I spent a few nights working with the the adorable Live Loud collection by Imaginisce. My little man LOVES music, whether it be singing, dancing, or playing instruments so this line was perfect for these pics . . .

I am recently into tags so I found some coordinating cardstock and created a tag to build my title on. A mix of Thickers, Imaginisce's awesome rub-ons & chipboard, and some doodling resulted in this . . .

I also decided to add a bit of black within the white circles on this orange patterned paper - I think it really made it "pop". Being little strips, it posed a bit tricky to glue down, especially at the ends. However, I whipped out my FAVORITE liquid glue by Tombow Adhesives to adhere the strips with no problem at all. As design team members of Imaginisce we were fortunate enough to receive a pile of goodies from Tombow this month - I was so excited to see their Mono Aqua Liquid Glue because it is the only liquid glue I use. The fine tip is perfect for adhering the littlest details on your layout :) Check it out in action here - the strips adhered perfectly . . .

In addition I worked on this card featuring the Live Loud line as well. I couldn't resist using this cute robot somewhere & he was the perfect touch to this card :)

Have a fab Monday!!

Happy St.Patrick's Day from me & my little leprechaun . . .

This pic is actually from yesterday after Ryan came home from preschool - they made these cute hats & shamrocks :)

Today's weather was an absolute gift - just gorgeous & sunny - temps in the 60s :) We spent most of the afternoon outside enjoying it . . .

Once tuckered out, Ryan & I came inside & decided to do some baking - we moved on to the next holiday a little early & made some Easter cupcakes - Ryan loved decorating these . . .

While working on these cupcakes, I little light bulb went off & I got an idea . . . what about some decorative cupcake holders . . . I found the adorable Egg Drop Soup line by Jillibean Soup in my stash and got creating . . .

LOVE these new cardstock stickers they came out with - the perfect "fix" for my current layering obsession . . .

Oh and the grass around the bottom of the cupcakes . . . stamped with this cute set by Jillibean Soup . . .

I also want to give myself some props in regards to my new cupcake decorating skills - I had bought some of those decorating tips a while ago but never played around with them. I was always a bit intimidated but they were super easy to use.

Have a fab Wednesday . . .
I'll be back Friday to share some more Imaginisce projects using the FABULOUS Live Loud line!!!

** Edited to add a quick apology - I added some new songs the other day to my playlist - obviously I should have listened to them all because one was not the song it advertised but rather some nasty words - so sorry - I deleted it as soon as I realized it!!! **

I'm back - finally popping my head out from the world of sickness - yes, Ryan got sick with a bad head cold & cough - then me, - then Justin. Ryan was home all last week from his preschool but today he is back & I am sipping my tall diet Coke & "netting" it at Barnes & Nobles - happy to be back in "
the routine" :) On top of being sick, this is my busy time for assignments - however, I have still been able to keep the creative juices flowing (thank goodness). Also - we finally have sun today :) It has been so rainy the past few days but the rest of this week is looking up - by Thursday they are forecasting sunny & 65 :) Love it!!!! On to some scrappy :)

Imaginisce's new Live Loud line is just fabulous -lots of fun prints on the papers & as always - TONS of adorable coordinating embellies to play with. I had taken some pics of Ryan all styled up & knew they would be perfect - he had a ball sporting his new Spiderman sunglasses :)

Love these bright, fun colors & those guitars - to die for, right??? Here is a close-up of the title work . . .

Oh & the rub-ons in this collection are just awesome - love the little music notes & this boombox - just too cute!!!

I have also been on the card-making roll these days - first up is quick & simple card using the Imaginisce Lucy Bird line - love the color palette here & isn't this scalloped circle rub-on adorable??

I made this card using the Jillibean Soup Egg Drop & Talk Soup line - such cute & "springy" papers!!! Love the look of the layered journaling sprout & some of JB's new cardsticker stickers - and currently SO addicted to the Fiskers bracket border punch - I think it really "pops" on a project with a quick outline. Also - I actually used some pearl accents - this is pretty "girly" for me & I am not really a "girly" scrapper, since I only have a son & scrap him most of the time. Not gonna lie - totally enjoyed the "girliness" of this :)

My final card is using the Jillibean Soup Minestrone & Soup Staples line - such a fun mix of bright, bold prints!! I LOVE these kraft luggage tags they are putting out right now - so much fun to play with :)

Let's call this last portion of today's post "Temptation Tuesday" - don't you just have to have these . . .

and these . . .

I {heart} them - may have to order . . . head over here if you are "tempted" too :)
Have a fab Tuesday!!

3.10.2010

Thanks to all the commenters from yesterday for wishing me well - I really appreciate you taking the time to stop by & say congrats :) I wanted to share my other layout I did from the weekend crop with you - finally got it scanned last night. I used some more Jillibean Soup products - they have an adorable new line called New England Chowder that is all on kraft. I decided to mix it up with some of their Soup Staples to really make those colors "pop".

Here is a close-up of the top right corner - I am recently a bit obsessed with layering & love using all the cardstock stickers & paper to create this 3-D embellishment.

I am quickly becoming addicted to their new luggage tags :) I used the tag to build the title upon - the new cardstock sticker mini alphas fit perfectly!!!

I was surfing through etsy today & found these adorable papers by Pretty Little Studio . . .

and their adorable vintage style flashcards

might have to do a bit of shopping :)

Have a fab Wednesday!!

tuesday . . .

I'm baaaaaack!!! Okay - actually I was back Sunday night - but I have finally come up for air so to speak :) As I came in the door, Justin was going out the door. He had some meetings in PA until tonight so I basically walked in, said hi & by, and jumped back into "mommyhood". I am still trying to get the house back in order & catch up on the laundry & unfortunately Ryan is sick with a cold so reiterating what I said before - I am just coming up for air :) Anyways - I did have so much fun this past weekend - don't tease me but from 3:00 pm Friday until 3:00 Sunday I only finished 2 layouts - too much gabbing & shopping (like I need one more scrapbook supply) but I had a great time!!! I wanted to share the first layout I did at the crop. I brought some of the new Jillibean Soup papers & also the older collections I had which work so nicely with the new. I love that when companies do that :) This layout mixes their Lentil Soup line, Old World Cabbage Stew Line, Minestrone Line, and Soup Staples Line. I love this pic of Ryan and my best friend's kids - they are all such good friends. For a mother of an only child, it is so comforting to know he has such close relationships with these two. I always worry about what it must be like to grow up as an only child - I myself have 4 brothers & sisters so it is hard for me to imagine being the only child in a household . . .

Here is a close up of the little tree - yes I know, I'm crazy, I hand-stitched on those little leaves. I just LOVE the little details :) I am not sure who makes these wood trees - I bought them at the crop but if anyone is interested I can try & find out.

Here is a close-up of the new Jillibean tags - love these kraft tags!! I hand-stitched over the lines that were already preprinted - just trying to pull some more touches of green into the layout. At the top of the tag I created some faux ribbon by trimming up some patterned paper, folding it & tucking it under a button.

Off to clean up the rest of the house - have a fab Tuesday!!! I'll be back this week with more news & more layouts :)

3.06.2010

Where have I been ???? Well I spent the past few days preparing to head out to a weekend long crop!!!! I must say - I use so many different things while scrapping that trying to pack to head out to this crop was pretty challenging :) I was sad to leave my sewing machine at home - but I did bring a whole bag of embroidery floss & a few needles so I can still work in the hand-sewing :) It has been so much fun hanging out with the girls & just relaxing. Can't wait to share what I come up with next week - although I am only 1 layout in as of yet . . .

Going to go off on a tangent a bit - any Grey's Fans out there - one of the things I like best about the show is all the music I have been exposed to from it - Pandora actually has a Grey's radio channel - love it :) I have always been drawn to songs that mean something - I love to find out the lyrics & the meaning behind them - in honor of Val reminding me how I used to post a new song pick on each post back in the day I chose three to share :) You will need to pause the music in my sidebar to hear this.

Pick #1: I Don't Feel It Anymore by William Fitzsimmons & Priscilla Ahn

Pick #2: The Weight of Us by Sanders Bohlke

Pick #3: The Weary Kind by Ryan Bingham

On to some scrappy to share :) As always - Tara sent me this fabulous kit to work with for March . . .

Here is the March sketch for Magpie Club - she is running a challenge with it right now on her blog :)

And here is my take using gorgeous goodies from the main kit . . .

And a few close-ups . . .

Hope all is well in your neck of the woods - have a FABULOUS weekend!!

**If you are part of the Imaginisce sketch challenge blog hop - head directly to this post**

I had the fabulous opportunity to work with Amber's adorable March kit at Scrapbook Kit Club. Full of Cosmo Cricket & October Afternoon goodness, as well as tons of other fun embellies (including those awesome Jillibean Soup Corrugated Cardboard Alphas), it was such a pleasure to work with!! Pop on over & check it out!!! Here are the projects I came up with . . .

First up, "Curious Boy" - don't miss out on seeing that layered flower held by a brad I created using the i-top by Imaginisce. Gotta love this tool!!! Amber had included these great felt circles in the kit & I stitched a quick "x" and the created a brad :)

Here's a close-up on the journaling . . .

And the title . . .

And a sketch to go along with it - Amber will be posting a challenge on her blog later this week so check in over there & join in the fun!!

Next up - "Best Buds" - my little man & his grandpa :) I had so much fun with this border - a perfect way of using scraps!! I punched then with a border punch & then hand-stitched all the way around. Loved all the fun Cosmo Cricket goodies tucked in around the pic!!!

"Oh So Sweet & Snuggly" is a pic of Ryan from the early days - love this Cosmo Cricket Earth Love line for baby pics :)

Quick close-up of the flowers I made - created by layering up punched flowers . . .

Finally 2 quick & easy cards -

Thanks Amber - loved creating with your kit!!! I have been asked to guest design for a few clubs in the coming months - can't wait to share with you all :) If you are a kit club owner & looking for a guest designer feel free to email me at dailyscrap@gmail.com - I'd love to chat with you!!

Before I go - Happy Birthday to this man . . .

My son LOVES Dr.Seuss & all his imaginative stories. Ryan is totally obsessed with The Cat in the Hat . . .

and The Grinch . . .

We spent the evening at a Dr.Seuss Birthday party at the local library - so much fun :)

Have a fab Tuesday & be back tomorrow to share my Magpie Club sketch & sample!!!

Morning everyone!!! It is March 1st & I am bringing you a new sketch challenge for Imaginisce. Erin Bassett designed this fun, easy to work with sketch
below . . .

And here is my take on it using the adorable Lucy Bird line from Imaginisce . . .

Check out this close-up too, the flower has a brad center created using the fabulous i-top!!! I was able to take a small circle of felt, hand-sew a quick "x" on it, and the create a brad using the i-top, doesn't that tool ROCK????

Imaginisce is giving away a prize package worth $50 to one lucky person who enters their drawing - WOW!!! How can you enter??? You can enter MULTIPLE (yes, multiple) times by visiting all the blogs of DT members who participated in the sketch challenge as well as Imaginisce's blog, and leaving comments. Super easy :) But wait - do you want to play along with the sketch too??? We'd LOVE it!!! Check out all the details on entering the drawing & the sketch challenge here.
