I am in love, with someone other than my hubby :) That's right - my heart belongs to this adorable new line - Lucy Bird - by Imaginisce (sorry Justin). I'll admit - at first I was a bit intimidated to work with this "girly" line, but I LOVED playing with this papers & embellies!!! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE girly paper - but mostly I am scrapping Ryan so I tend to not purchase too much of it. But now, after using this cute line - I feel like a whole new world has been opened up - I can totally scrap the girly & still use the boy pics :) Watch out wallet - might have to do some "girly" paper shopping :)

Here is my first layout with this line - I misted the background cardstock with Maya Mist in Brown - love that stuff!!!

Here are a few close-ups . . . the first shows these adorable sticker stackers that Imaginisce has for each of their lines - they are one of my favorite embellies!!! I also used one of their rubons over top of one for the title.

This close-up shows another sticker stacker & a punched butterfly - guess what - that butterfly was punched from the photo :)

Finally, a quick close up of the journaling . . . misted some extra cardstock & typed journaling strips - then attached them by sewing - the great thing is because the paper was the same as the background, the strips almost just melt away - making it appear that I typed on the 12 x 12 cardstock :)

Now I loved the other layout, but this next one, may be my all time favorite layout - I am so happy with how it all came together - and I LOVE this pic of Ryan - he was punching out butterflies for some Valentine's cards.

Here are a few close-ups of this layout - LOVE the Martha Stewart butterfly punch & love how this Imaginisce patterned paper looks when punched. It was a patterned paper with lots of large graphics - I wasn't sure how I was going to use it on the page - but feel in love with the effect it had once punched. I also hand-stitched over the butterflies - one of my fav techniques :)

I finally used my Making Memories slice when creating this diecut shape - it was so easy to use!! The alphas are new from Cosmo Cricket.

Here is a close-up of the journaling - added a bit of hand-stitching here as well - can you tell I'm addicted to stitching???

I am still working on some more from this line & will hopefully have them to share later this week . . .

While blogsurfing today I came across this etsy store - I am in LOVE with this . . .

and this . . .

and this . . .

hopefully one of you will buy them before I spend any more money :)

Also, wanted to mention that one of my former DT members from 52 Sketches 52 Weeks, Aphra, is opening her own kit club - The Paper Poppy.

She is a SUPER talented scrapper & I know she will rock the kit world!!! Her first kit is up for sale March 1st - currently she is running some fun giveaways on her
company blog - make sure to check her out :)

Happy Valentine's Day to you all - thank you so much for taking the time to read my little space in the cyberworld!! It is so nice to read all your sweet comments & to surf on over to your sites to keep up my own inspiration!!! Justin & I are heading out to DC tonight for a little romantic overnight trip :) Looking forward to a night out!!

  2. Jules, so glad you are getting away with your hubby! I hope you two have a wonderful time. I LOVE your new LO's. My fav is the one with all the butterflies...so touching and heartfelt. Made me teary-eyed. I am glad you finally used your slice. How do you like it? It is really easy to use. I have one. But, everyone is trying to get my to buy a Cricut as well now. Do you have both? I thought I remember seeing one in your scrappy room pics. If so, do you use it much? Do you like it? Recommend having both? Just wondering your thoughts on this...
    Happy Valentine's Day!!!

  4. Julie,
As always your lo's are truly magnificent! I love the way the journaling strips really do just "melt" into the page I had to read your blog 3 time's just to make sure you hadn't typed on the 12x12! Truly amazing!

  5. I love you're 1st layout! You really can not tell that those are strips that are typed on and not the background paper. I have 2 boys, so I never use girly paper and embellishments either. After seeing yours, maybe I'll give it a try. Hope you have a great night, an over-nighter sounds like so much fun!
