Happy end of the night everyone!!!! I am ready for a new day tomorrow :) It has been a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG day - you know - one of those days you end up cuddled in bed, watching reality TV & surfing the net at like 9 :) I have so many things I wanted to do tonight (laundry, a bit of cleaning, watch a movie with my hubby, etc.) but I guess there is always tomorrow - right :) Amidst all the recent scrappy projects I have been working on (that I still can't share - soon, soon!!) I spent a few hours last night creating a quick, fun layout. It did take a few hours but that is quick for me :) I actually glued as I went, no rethinking every little thing. It was actually super refreshing to scrap this way. Check it out . . .

I currently am into the "splattered" ink look - just a hint of it - nothing too crazy. If you want to try this - the easiest way to do this is to take the pump top off the bottle of mist & just fling it a bit here & there on your paper. It can make a bit of a mess - so I use a deeper box slightly larger than a 12 x 12 paper to do it in. Fun to play around with - definitely try it out if you haven't yet :) The lacing may look a bit time consuming but it actually went quite quick. I drew an inner square on the background paper and hole punched evenly around the border. To lace I used twine instead of floss - I seemed to have more control with that. I was totally inspired to do this by Nancy Damiano - check here work out here. The patterned papers I used here were from SEI's On The Coast line - I loved the mix of green, blue, orange, and grey - perfect for beach pics. The chipboard that coordinated was awesome - you'll see bits of it here & there :) The 2 large flowers were hand-cut from one of the patterned papers - aren't they gorgeous??? In the end, just loved the crisp look to this & the fact that it only took a couple hours - for me that is a record :) Maybe I am turning over a new leaf :)

On to the winner of those 2 awesome punches!!!! Thanks so much for sharing all those FABULOUS quotes & poems - they will definitely help with am upcoming project I am working on :) I randomly drew comment #7!!!!

"When I talk about being present, I mean it in the most literal sense possible. I mean being in my life. I want my mind to stay inside my head for a little bit. I want my heart to dwell here, in the rooms of my days."

Don't you just love this??? I have always had a great love of quotes & poetry. Since I am the world's worst writer (seriously, that is why I taught math) I always appreciated finding an author who could put into words exactly how I might be feeling or paint a picture of something as real as if it was standing before me. What a gift that is to be able to do that . . . this excerpt was from an article written by Lindsey Mead. She has an awesome blog - A Design So Vast - definitely put this on your reading list!!!

What has been happening - we recently returned from our trip visiting Great Grammy in New York :)

And have been getting ready for fall - I know it is early but seriously, my son is obsessed with the holidays/seasons -

created some fall headbands . . .

Photobucket

some pumpkin faces . . .

Photobucket

some yummy fall cupcakes . . .

Photobucket

my other little man is growing bigger & bigger every day . . .

Photobucket

and already showing me he will not be a willing participant in picture-taking (see how he is covering his face) . . .

Photobucket

On the scrappy front . . .

I am currently under a pile of scrappy goodness - yes I have been scrapping. Since we talked last I have created 2 single page sketches, 2 double page sketches, 3 single page layouts, 3 double page layouts, and a mini album - WHAT???? Can you believe that??? And unfortunately - I can't share any of it - how sad is that??? Soon though, I promise :) And then this little old blog will be overloaded with scrappy pics :) I have lots of fun opportunities coming up this next month as well - one of which has already been posted HERE - so check it out :)

I am working on a little something & on the search for good quotes/poems - comment below with a favorite quote/poem of yours (or a link to it) and be in the running for these 2 awesome punches . . .

Hello everyone - hope you have all been enjoying your weekend!! We have had a busy few days - thankfully no more bat adventures though :) We went to the town parade with Grammy & Grandpa yesterday . . .

Photobucket

& then spent the evening on a boat ride . . .

Photobucket

Today we headed over to the craft show & then back to my Grandmother's to spend time with family :) We've had lots of fun this week - especially Ryan, he is having a blast :)

Now the other day I promised I'd pop in and share my Magpie Club layout & sketch. Tara's kit was so cute & full of awesome goodies as usual - I knew as soon as I saw the Echo Park sticker about flying a kite that this kit would be perfect for scrapping some recent pics of our kite adventures in Ocean City. I was looking to include LOTS of pics & found a great collage layout in Picnik. Picnik is an awesome photo editing service. Super easy to create all sorts of collages by just uploading pics & doing some easy dragging & dropping :) Here is the sketch I came up with . . .

Photobucket

And my sample layout . . .

Photobucket

Don't you just love this fun summer line by Echo Park - simply adorable!!!

And a quick close-up, lovin' the pinwheel sticker & the touch of blue mist :)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

and I was doing so good . . . please forgive me things are a bit "batty" these days - I was planning on posting Tuesday night but ending up staying up to the wee hours finishing some assignments before I left Wednesday for New York to visit my grandmother. We were planning on leaving around lunchtime on Wednesday but after 3 return trips for items my dad forgot (and we were an hour away one of those times) we never even left until 5:30 pm - thus not arriving here until 1:30 am. Finally we were ready to hit the sack only to have a few visitors - two bats - ewwww!!! We got rid of one but the other disappeared. I finally headed to bed around 4 am - needless to say sleeping easy did not happen last night. The other bat revisited tonight but my dad did capture him this time - so we are currently batless - although we will see how the rest of the week goes :) Life is always an adventure - right????

I did leave you all in a lurch in regards to our winner for the Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather Crafting kit - thanks so much for sharing all those fun holidays movies - I saw tons of my favs & a handful of new-to-me's to try out!!! On to our winner . . .

Congrats to comment #19 - Kristen S :)

Photobucket

Happy 46th Anniversary - WOW!!! 46 years people - that is inspirational :) They are absolutely fabulous & adorable & I love them dearly - here's to many more wonderful years & a big THANK YOU for being such terrific parents!!!

Here is a little card I whipped up last night for them - be warned - I am not a card maker - but I was inspired yesterday when I saw this card on Two Peas - loved the look of little pics on a card :) Everything is Studio Calico except the cardstock & the rub-on used to decorate the small square of kraft paper in the top left corner.

Photobucket

Just lovin' these old pics of them :)

Thanks for sharing glimpses of these beautiful products. One of my favorite traditions is apple picking with my family in the fall and then making apple pies and apple sauce. I also love baking cookies every Christmas holiday with my kids. It's a lot of fun when we all get together in the kitchen to bake!

Sandy - please email me your address at dailyscrap@gmail.com & I will mail these goodies out to you as soon as they arrive :) Thanks so much everyone for sharing your family traditions - so many great ideas!! If you haven't commented on yesterday's post please do - you have about 30 minutes left & you might just walk away with a yummy Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather crafting kit!!!

I have been - just a bit :) Finishing up my Magpie Club sketch & sample (hoping to post that in the next day or two) and working on a some sketches for a few other things . . . listening to Pandora - anyone else use that??? Do you know about it?? If not - CHECK IT OUT HERE!! I love it - I can create my own radio station based on an artist or a song. I am currently listening to a station based on Joshua Radin - love him :) It's awesome & free - unless you are like me & use the service WAY too much & had to buy a plan :) Anyways - I highly recommend it!!

Alright - I will be drawing a winner for yesterday's MME Halloween goodies tomorrow - so if you haven't commented on yesterday's post get to it - you have another twenty minutes :) I so enjoyed reading all your traditions - it gave me lots of good ideas for my own growing family :) Thanks so much for sharing!!

On to my top 10 picks of the CHA Summer season (#6 - #10 - in no particular order) . . .

#6 The Girls' Paperie - Okay first of all the women behind the designing Margie Romney-Aslett - seems like an absolute sweetheart - I only know of her through her blog - but she writes in such a way that you feel you know her - reminds me of a down to earth blogger like Stephanie Howell - love her too :) Anyways - I wasn't sure about her first 2 collections but once I saw them in person - I fell in love. Heavenly vintage - but not too over the top vintage - just enough for me :) She has 2 new collections coming out . . .

#7 - Jillibean Soup - Okay - if you know me you know I LOVE Jillibean Soup :) I have every single collection they have made & have followed them since the beginning. I was fortunate enough to be a guest designer for them last month & even had the honor to have them use one of my projects in their booth at CHA!! Their products keep getting better & better :) JBS came out with some adorable new embellishments this go around but what really caught my eye were 2 of their collections . . .

Atomic Soup (click here) - did you know I taught science - yep - I did - only for 2 years then I switched to math :)

& Christmas Chestnut Soup (click here)

**sorry no pics for these but for some reason all of their graphics were coming up too small**

#9 October Afternoon - Okay - I love them - I mean you can't go wrong - a great mix of color and distressed - just perfect for me who likes to dabble in a bunch of styles :) And the stickers - LOVE them :) Can't wait to see the reveal of their other new lines . . . for now here is Seaside . . .

#10 Cosmo Cricket - Okay - who doesn't love Cosmo Cricket - totally cute & fun & whimsical - I don't think anyone would ever consider me cutesy - just not a descriptor for me - but at least my pages can be when I use these goodies :) And I LOVE the elements sheet they include in the collections - I totally use them up - perfect for layering :) Two collections really caught my eye this time around - one was Togetherness - so adorable . . .

Photobucket

and the other - Mitten Weather - the purple threw me for a bit since I usually am one to boycott purple - but I still loved it despite the purple :) So sweet & cutesy & perfect for winter/holiday scrapping!!!

Photobucket

Now - yesterday I gave away Halloween goodies - why not move forward a holiday to Christmas :) If you are interested in winning a Mitten Weather crafting kit as seen above, please comment with your favorite holiday movie/show. As a child my brothers & sisters & I had quite a collection of holiday movies - especially Christmas. I think my favorite would be 'Twas the Night Before Christmas - you know the cartoon with the mouse who breaks the clock & has to fix it before Christmas - love that one :) Anyways - can't wait to hear all your favs!!

Am I becoming a regular blogger - or what??? Back again & it hasn't even been 24 hours :) I promised to share my top 10 manufacturers from this summer's CHA - now seriously, just because there are some not on the list - don't think I still don't love 'em - I just really tried to narrow it down & these companies - well - their scrappy goodness just sang to me this season :) These are in no particular order (I swear) . . .

#1 Bella Blvd - I have been in love with their bold & bright designs from the get-go & have been following them since their start. I even won their first layout contest ever back in my earlier scrappy days :) I LOVE so many of their new collections this season but particularly fell in love with One Fall Day - is anyone else ready for fall??? I definitely am :)

Now we are big fans of Halloween in my house & pre-child used to throw a doozy of a party each year - I'm talking costume party, 150 adults easy, all catered by me (can you imagine doing that with children for that many people - never), decorations galore, we even had a band one year (okay it was my brother's band but he did play in a few clubs in the city). Anyways - I am not the entertainer I once was but nevertheless we still like to do it up here at the Bonner house for any holiday - including Halloween. Yes, Ryan has already started making decorations - we get this going early around here :) Anyways - I LOVE MME new Halloween line Blackbird - it is simply adorable & will be perfect for my pics of Ryan. Check it out . . .
