saturday . . .

What a day . . . what a week!!! I have SO MANY wonderful scrappy goodies to share with you - but unfortunately they can't be revealed until Monday - sorry!!!

Okay - going to be sappy here - guess what I found out in the snow last night . . .

from this man . . .

love him :)

I have had a few questions recently in my comments that I wanted to address . . .

What type of scanner do I use for my layouts??

I am fortunate to have a husband who works in the technology industry - so he got me this -

an Epson Expression 10,000 XL - definitely an investment but worth every penny because I can scan my layouts anytime, day or night. No worries about lighting :) Plus I am big on the details & it shows them nicely :)

Can you share some details on the organization of your scrap room??

Okay - since my scrap room is a "bomb" right now because of all the work I have been doing this week - I will revisit this one the 2nd week in March & give you all the details - I did want to share that the white cubes/fixtures you see here are all from Michael's - right before Christmas I got them for a steal - but it took forever to get them all put together!!!

What program do you create your sketches in??

I currently use Photoshop Elements but have used a number of digital scrapbook programs & even Powerpoint in the past.

Any more questions??? Feel free to comment in this post or shoot me an email at dailyscrap@gmail.com

Before I go - thanks to Monica for this sweet blog award . . .

I will send this off to 6 fab blogs I LOVE to visit :)

Enjoy the rest of the weekend :)

Popping in to share some FABULOUS contests going on :)

First up - Imaginisce is having a fun & easy contest over on their Facebook page here. All you need to do is post a photo on their Facebook page of you holding the i-top tool. No worries if you haven't broken down & bought one of these AWESOME tools - just photoshop one into a picture, borrow a friends, or just go to the store & take a pic of you holding it. Post this by Sunday night & they will choose a winner on Monday - not quite sure what the prize is - but I'm sure it will be FABULOUS!!!

Also - don't forget about this month's FUN sketch challenge on the Imaginisce blog !!! Just create a card or layout using IMAGINISCE PRODUCTS and the sketch below. Post a link to your take on the Imaginisce blog here before February 25th. A winner will be selected at the end of the month & receive an AWESOME prize - the i-top tool package or $75 prize package of Imaginisce goodies!!!

Don't forget about the monthly sketch contest over at The Scrap Room. The challenge is running through this Monday using the sketch below.

All the details can be found here :)

Couldn't leave without sharing this photo with you - Ryan is very into creating "parades" these days - usually they are music parades & we play all his instruments around the house - but today he got creative :)

Ever hear of a shoe parade?? We had one :)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend - be back next week to share some scrappy pages :)

I am in love, with someone other than my hubby :) That's right - my heart belongs to this adorable new line - Lucy Bird - by Imaginisce (sorry Justin). I'll admit - at first I was a bit intimidated to work with this "girly" line, but I LOVED playing with this papers & embellies!!! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE girly paper - but mostly I am scrapping Ryan so I tend to not purchase too much of it. But now, after using this cute line - I feel like a whole new world has been opened up - I can totally scrap the girly & still use the boy pics :) Watch out wallet - might have to do some "girly" paper shopping :)

Here is my first layout with this line - I misted the background cardstock with Maya Mist in Brown - love that stuff!!!

Here are a few close-ups . . . the first shows these adorable sticker stackers that Imaginisce has for each of their lines - they are one of my favorite embellies!!! I also used one of their rubons over top of one for the title.

This close-up shows another sticker stacker & a punched butterfly - guess what - that butterfly was punched from the photo :)

Finally, a quick close up of the journaling . . . misted some extra cardstock & typed journaling strips - then attached them by sewing - the great thing is because the paper was the same as the background, the strips almost just melt away - making it appear that I typed on the 12 x 12 cardstock :)

Now I loved the other layout, but this next one, may be my all time favorite layout - I am so happy with how it all came together - and I LOVE this pic of Ryan - he was punching out butterflies for some Valentine's cards.

Here are a few close-ups of this layout - LOVE the Martha Stewart butterfly punch & love how this Imaginisce patterned paper looks when punched. It was a patterned paper with lots of large graphics - I wasn't sure how I was going to use it on the page - but feel in love with the effect it had once punched. I also hand-stitched over the butterflies - one of my fav techniques :)

I finally used my Making Memories slice when creating this diecut shape - it was so easy to use!! The alphas are new from Cosmo Cricket.

Here is a close-up of the journaling - added a bit of hand-stitching here as well - can you tell I'm addicted to stitching???

I am still working on some more from this line & will hopefully have them to share later this week . . .

While blogsurfing today I came across this etsy store - I am in LOVE with this . . .

and this . . .

and this . . .

hopefully one of you will buy them before I spend any more money :)

Also, wanted to mention that one of my former DT members from 52 Sketches 52 Weeks, Aphra, is opening her own kit club - The Paper Poppy.

She is a SUPER talented scrapper & I know she will rock the kit world!!! Her first kit is up for sale March 1st - currently she is running some fun giveaways on her
company blog - make sure to check her out :)

Happy Valentine's Day to you all - thank you so much for taking the time to read my little space in the cyberworld!! It is so nice to read all your sweet comments & to surf on over to your sites to keep up my own inspiration!!! Justin & I are heading out to DC tonight for a little romantic overnight trip :) Looking forward to a night out!!

saturday . . .

Please forgive me . . . I know I promised a mini to share a few days ago but I never made it over here to blogger to post. It has been a hectic week with this crazy snow & it looks like we are expecting more on Monday - ahhhhhhhhh!!! Believe me, I am a lover of snow and all things winter - but I think I have reached full capacity in regards to this winter season - bring on some spring :)

Now, be kind - I have only ever completed one other mini & that was years ago. I have started many, but never finished them - I am more of a one-page layout kind of gal :) Creating a mini was a bit daunting at first for me but I really enjoyed the process & loved the fact that I actually did quite a bit of journaling. I am one of those scrappers that struggles with "putting the words down" so this was a great opportunity to tell the story so to speak. I used the adorable Scooter's Vacation line from Imaginisce & created this little mini of our trip to Canada last January.

I definitely struggled with taking the pics - I usually scan my layouts but couldn't scan the mini so I would love any tips on photographing minis . . . feel free to comment on this - I'd love to know your thoughts :)

Anyone looking for some scrapping fun this weekend??? Color Me Daisy is hosting a FABULOUS "Organize Your Heart" Crop through this weekend - there are tons of awesome challenges & games and wonderful prizes to be won :) I created a card sketch for my challenge (my first one) . . .

And here is a sample using CMD's February Main Kit . . .

Check back tomorrow - I have more scrappy projects to share!!!

2.09.2010

Can you believe it is snowing again!!! We are expecting another 14 - 20 inches by tomorrow, blizzard conditions, winds 35 mph +, and thundersnow. On top of the 30 some inches we already have - we will certainly be "buried" in snow!!! On a scrappy note - I was asked to have one of my projects featured on this FABULOUS magazine blog - check it out!!! (Thanks Amy!!) Have an awesome Tuesday . . . be back tomorrow to share a mini - yes I actually made a mini (I am one of those scrappers that always start minis but never finish - finally completed the whole thing!!).

We are snowed in!!! Well, not quite anymore - we have done lots of digging out in the past couple days :) It began Friday night - here is Justin & I getting ready to plow the driveway & neighborhood . . .

Saturday morning this is what we woke up to . . .

And it kept snowing, all day & early evening Saturday!!! Ryan & I did some baking to pass the time :)

Then we played a bit in the snow :)

In all we ended up with a little over 30 inches - insane for our area!!! And another 6 - 12 inches expected by Wednesday - ahhhhhhhhh!!

I haven't spent any time scrapping this weekend - too much time shoveling and playing and baking & drying wet clothes :) I am definitely scrapping tomorrow night though!!! I am in creative withdrawal!!!

I do have a little scrappy goodness to share though - Pam from My Creative Scrapbook sent me this BEAUTIFUL kit for February - totally jam-packed with awesome papers & TONS of embellies!!!

Here is my sketch for February . . .

And here is my take using the February MCS main kit . . .

I did a little misting on the chipboard included in the kit for the title work . . .

And I added in a bit of stitching - love these patterned papers by Making Memories!!

Have a fabulous Sunday!!

I am checking in tonight during the Grey's Anatomy commercials (totally addicted to this show - anyone else???). We are in store for a HUGE snowstorm this weekend in the mid-atlantic (can't wait!!!) :) We have actually had tons of snow (for us, that is) already this winter - here are a few pics from this week's snow . . .

Here's Ryan working very hard on a Valentine for Natalie - he's totally got a thing for this little girl from his class at preschool :)

Ryan hanging with the poodles (minus Bitsy - she never likes her pic taken) . . .

Can't wait to scrap some of these :) Speaking of scrapping - Michelle over at Color Me Daisy sent me this fabulous kit to work with for February, full of gorgeous embellies & an awesome mix of Jenni Bowlin & My Minds Eye papers . . .

Unfortunately, this will be my last month to work with Color Me Daisy - Michelle has decided to no longer offer monthly kits on a regular basis. I am so sorry to not be working with her club as she created some really FABULOUS kits - best of luck to you Michelle!!

Here is my February sketch for CMD . . .

And here is my take on it using the February main kit . . .

Happy snow day tomorrow to those of you in the mid-atlantic!!! Snuggle up & enjoy :)
