Made it through the weekend - Justin has been out of town so I have been single mommy all weekend :)  Today we went to Michael's & Ryan made the cutest little Halloween T-shirt.  We covered his hands with black paint - 2 overlapping handprints to the left & right & some googley eyes & voila - you have a spider. I would show you a pic but my hubby took the camera with him - he's in the Bahamas - lucky duck :)  Anyways - in honor of this upcoming spooky holiday on Saturday I am holding a fabulous SPOOKTACULAR blog giveaway - that's right - TONS of Halloweeny goodness to get all those awesome holiday pics scrapped.  How do you enter - just become a reader of the blog - I will draw one lucky winner on the 30th :)  Check out what could be coming your way . . .

Today I stopped to watch the moments - totally inspired by a quote I found on Jen Davis' blog -

Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart. Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow. Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so. One day I shall dig my nails into the earth, or bury my face in the pillow, or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky and want, more than all the world, your return. - Mary Jean Iron

It is so hard sometimes to appreciate the day for what it is - especially when your son has been sick for two days & home from preschool & very fussy :)  But I caught daddy & him having one of those sweet moments over dinner, fully engaged in conversation.  Always funny to hear what comes out of an almost 3 year-olds mouth :) Also - nothing like hearing my little one talking & singing away while "trying" to go potty by himself - no mommies allowed (his rule).  Anyways - just stopping to say I am appreciating the everyday moments of today :)
On to some scrappy goodness!! I've been doing alot of creating these days - first up is a layout I am in love with - me playing with some texture here on the concentric circles & using some fabulous hues of green from the Sweet Shoppe line by Collage Press.  Just lovin' the distressed look to these papers & this is such a favorite pic of my little one the first week home from the hospital - almost 3 years ago:) How time flies . . .

I also had a chance to play with the new Carnival Ride collection by
Scrap Within Reach - I was tempted to stitch on this but instead held back, just a little paper tearing & inking instead - love the color combo here - just gorgeous papers & love this sweet pic of Ryan from last month:)

I also have a sketch & layout to share from my work with Color Me Daisy - such a fun fall kit for October & loved the Crate Paper chipboard accents they included. They are running a contest right now with this within their Fall into Fall 2 week online crop - check it out here.

I'm here, I'm here!!  I have been doing lots of scrapping & plan to do even more today :)  My hubby took my son to the beach for the weekend so it has been a weekend of scrappin' - yeah!! First up is a cute card for Ryan's teacher - a little note of thanks - full of Imaginisce goodies (papers & chipboard) and some new Thickers :)

Photobucket

While at my LSS I saw these new cute lines by Imaginisce called Perfectly Posh & Let's Roll.

Photobucket Photobucket

I don't have a little girl - but I couldn't resist the Perfectly Posh -  used it for some pics of Ryan & his good friend Anna Kate - it was impossible to get a shot of the two of them - kids :)

Photobucket

The Let's Roll line was perfect for my pics of our "Day Out With Thomas" - love the bright, cheery colors!!  Unfortunately, my LSS did not have the trims to go with this line but I got my creative juices flowing.  I found some white twill ribbon in my stash & rubbed on the railroad tracks - did a little pleating & voila - railroad track ribbon :)

Photobucket

I also played with my Magpie Club kit a bit more - just a fun mix of goodies in here. The background paper was a bit daunting for me at first but then I added a bunch of hand-stitching to pull the brown in & in the end I think it turned out pretty cute :) The pic itself is a bit overexposed but I liked that you could tell the sun was shining on him & he was smiling :)

By the way - sneaks on the November kit are tomorrow - check it out
here!!

Also, if your are looking for another sketch challenge of mine out there on the web - head on over to The Scrap Room - their design team did an awesome job with the sketch & there is a fabulous prize up for grabs - get all the info here!!

I am one of those people that sit in Barnes & Noble on my laptop - and I love it :) My son began preschool this year & goes every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday morning.  It is only for a couple hours each day - too short to really drive all the way home & then come back.  So, I am a regular at B & N - they have wireless here so I have been using the time to catch up on the net, emails & my sketches.  Did I tell you I love it???  Anyways - some more scrappy goodies to share today.  I worked with My Creative Scrapbook's main kit this month - gorgeous Webster's Pages & 2 packs of Prima flowers - WOWZERS!!!  So many more goodies in there too - check it out here. Below is my sketch & sample - I will be posting the challenge for this in the MCS forum on Saturday.  Make sure to register & join in - any supplies can be used & you do not have to be a kit club member to play along (although you may be tempted after you see the kit). BTW - this is a pic of me & my sister when we were little - I am on the right :)
