This boy . . .
so handsome and sweet and loving . . . but today angry, out-of-sorts . . . he's been wetting the bed a bit recently - not sure what that is about, hoping it doesn't become a regular thing . . .
This boy . . .
completely adorable and getting his own little personality :) He rolled over yesterday and is babbling up a storm. He will be quite the talker I think!! He is an incredibly happy child considering he barely sleeps all day - usually 2 - 3 hours tops. The acid reflux seems to always wake him up - I can see a quick jerk or twitch from him while sleeping, then a sour face and then, eyes open. We have been trying a few new things to help with the reflux, hopefully we will see a difference soon . . . anyone out there with reflux babies??? I'd be happy to hear any suggestions on things that help :)
I haven't scrapped much in the past week - taking a bit of a break . . . however I do have my last 3 layouts from BlueMoon Scrapbooking to share. First up, "She Makes You So Happy" - full of My Minds Eye goodness and a pic to make your heart melt!!!
The title work was a mix of Prima, Sassafras Lass, and My Minds Eye - the layered flower, a mix of Prima mistable canvas (awesome stuff!!!), patterned paper flowers, and a gorgeous My Minds Eye brad . . .
Next up - "Growing" - loved this pic of Ryan - looking back at me :) This layout is a mix of Prima, Sassafras Lass, and My Minds Eye . . .
Love the Prima butterfly above the "i" - I think I am currently a bit obsessed with tying twine around tags :)
Close-up on the journaling . . .
And last - my favorite . . . "4 years" - something about the overlapping sewn circles . . . love that . . and the pic of little man picking flowers . . . love that too :)
I will have more to share from SEI & Jillibean Soup this week so stay tuned!!! Hope all is well out there :)
ttyl - julie :)
Wish I had some advice on the reflux, but I don't. We are having our own issues with said 4 yr old little boy over here. Just a huge defiant streak lately and just not being so nice. I don't know where the not nice thing is coming from. He is very much like his oldest sister. I am NOT going to survive that one again.
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty, pretty pages.. as always. I love them. The layers and all the bits and pieces you added! The one with your mom reminds me I need to get everyone's colds gone here so we can visit DH's dad. He is really sick... cancer and emphysema.
I hope today is a better day!! Hugs!
Julie, my oldest had reflux. For the first three months of his life he slept in his car seat. Having his legs a little higher seemed to help. That and a lot of bibs. :)
ReplyDeleteI am having one of those days, too, Julie, and sometimes it's nice to just soak in the quiet.
ReplyDeleteYour work is gorgeous- I can't wait to see what you did for Jillibean this month :D
I love your pages. The MME is awesome and the Sass letters go perfect with those papers. The designs are gorgeous as always. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics of the kiddos and great layouts. Love the color combos.
ReplyDeleteMy babies had reflux too. The pits I know. We tried everything, propping them when they sleep, gripe water, adding a tiny bit of cereal to bottles if they had them (I nursed them mostly) and eventually we had to resort to medication.. Turns out it was the dairy in my diet and theirs that was doing it. My sister switched hers to soy formula and that worked fantastic. I think the brand she used was by nestle/gerber (formerly carnation) Seems they are the only company she called that truly has a dairy free soy formula (they have a rabbi who comes in to certify the cleaning process on the machines.
Good luck, I hope what your trying now does the trick. Hard to watch your little ones suffering.
Fabulous layouts! I love the butterfly above the i too! I spend the weekend with two sick kiddos and a sick hubby and spent yesterday with a sick kiddo and teething baby. :-( I was not cutting it and no matter how hard I tried I failed at comforting them all! I hope things calm down for you and you are able to find things that make you smile each day to make up for the not so great moments! Oh and about the bed wetting...my DS has been having lots of accidents lately and I just don't get it. Its quite frustrating though.
ReplyDeletelove reading your blog it has a real honesty to it plus love your layouts too! I know what you mean about taking in the quiet even though you know you should sleep while you have the opportunity you need time to undwind and just be you! Arent they fab though our lovely wonderful children!!! xxx
ReplyDeleteJulie! Your kids are ADORABLE!!! I'm sorry you had a rough day! My prayers are with you! I'll keep you posted on our next get together. We would love to spend some time with the whole Bonner clan!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Beth
I have a 6 yr old who still has problems with reflux. I can feel your frustration and pain and sometimes feel so helpless. She has been taking Zantac since she has been 3 weeks old. She sometimes is able to go for a few months without it but then the waking at night starts and she needs her medication again.
ReplyDeleteWhen she was a baby one thing that help with sleeping was putting her on her stomach. I know that everyone says it's a "NO NO" but it was a our last resort and it helped. When we would put her on her back to sleep we might get 15 min. tops. Hang in there, it does get better.
Of course your layouts are as gorgeous as ever. I always look forward to your new work.
Growing is especially nice especially with the "rays" and "clouds" at the bottom.
ReplyDeleteOur youngest had reflux. We were told to let him sleep in his car seat so that he wasn't laying down...more like reclining. The only problem was he outgrew his infant car seat too fast...lol. It did help, though. The doc also told me to add cereal to his bottle, but that was at 6 weeks and you are no beyond that. Best of luck to you. Your little guys are so adorable! The time will go SOOOOO fast! Soon they'll be towering over you and have hairy legs...It happens so fast.
