** edited to add ending date of drawing below **
An apple Time Capsule - this gadget wirelessly saves my files/docs onto an external source whenever I use my computer - if only I had this a week ago!!!!!!!!!
I did spend the last 2 days immersed in scrapping (very therapuetic I might add). Tara over at Magpie Club sent me this FABULOUS kit - so cheery I couldn't help but get excited.
Luckily I had printed off about 10 pics or so for a project I didn't quite get to before the holidays so I had something to work with. Here is the January sketch for Magpie Club:
And here is my take on it using Tara's kit - that is my little music man - playing the harmonica :)
Speaking of good times . . . what better way to remember them then a photo calendar :) I have 4 Basic Grey 2010 Photo Calendar kits to give away!!!! Check it out -
How can you win one of these awesome calendars - just comment with something "new" you want to try in 2010 - doesn't have to be scrappy related :) I will randomly draw 4 winners on Sunday :)
Thanks again everyone!!!

ReplyDeleteGlad you're feeling better! And that Apple gizmo is neato. Love your sketch and layout. The title is especially cute. In 2010, I would like to try to get published.

ReplyDeleteAll my fingers are crossed for your hard drive.
ReplyDeleteThis year I will try to make a daily journaling calendarbook. And I would love to come to the United States for Scrapbook-Shopping (but I know for sure that this won't happen this year).
Thank you not only for the chance to win but also for your wonderful sketches which inspire me again and again.
Greetings from Julie from Germany
Great sketch again Julie. Hope you get your pictures recovered. Love the look of the Apple gizmo too. Happy New Year!!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely sketch again! And for a new thing this year: me and my boyfriend are hoping for our own place to live and start living on our own!
ReplyDeleteHi Julie,
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the baby...and your apple gizmo. In 2010 I wanna try to exercise twice a week! Take care!
First off I hope you can recover your pictures. That's devastating. Something new...I want to learn more about the manual settings on my camera. I'm going to start playing around with it.
ReplyDeleteAwesome layout Julie!!! Have to tell you...my computer crashed midday on Christmas while I was trying to transfer 8,000 pictures to a DVD. I had backed up my entire computer to my Time Capsule not two hours earlier (I don't have the wireless version...) so I was able to retrieve everything with the click of a couple buttons. Time Capsule ROCKS!!! You will LOVE it! And I really do have faith in the experts.
ReplyDeleteOh, my new thing to try...forgot. Ummmm, I'd like to try using the gym! :)
ReplyDeletemy new goal for 2010 is to use all my reusable bags that just sit in my car at every store i go to!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad things are going better. What a week you had last week! This year I am trying the Fly Lady e-mail reminders to keep a better handle on my house (organization and cleaning). I tend to get a little overwhelmed!
ReplyDeleteNew---I am trying to only surf two minutes for every one minute I walk on the tread mill! Thin again in 2010!!
ReplyDeleteoh just adore that page and love the sketch always!!! would definitely love to get one of those calendar... and what's new for me in 2010 - well finally decided to take a break from work (3 months break) to figure out somethings :)
ReplyDelete& a very happy new year to you and your family!
I'm so glad your feeling better emotionally! Like you scrapping lifts my soul! I'm in love with this sketch and I look forward to using it today while watching the bowl games and scraping!
ReplyDeleteI have two goals I want to do complete this year. Last year I started using chipboard mini albums as gifts. I also altered a box. I want to stretch myself a little further with chipboard mini albums and other altered paper crafts. The second is to attend AI school to save us dollars on AI work with the cattle!
Happy New Year to everyone and may you have a Blessed Year Julie!
Kim
So happy to hear that you are feeling better now. Best of luck for getting all those precious photographs back. I LOVE your newest LO! What a sweet pic!! I just printed off the sketch. ;) This year I am doing Project 365. I am so excited about it. It will be a challenge to never miss a day. Today's the first picture day and already I'm wondering what I will take!! LOL
ReplyDeletei lurk here. in 2010, i hope to come out of the woodwork and comment more, so here's my start. thanks for the chance at the BG RAK... one of my creative goals for 2010 is to use my sewing machine. i've had it for years and now i need to learn to use it (both on paper and on fabric). thanks for all the inspiration you've provided, and i hope 2010 is fabulous for you!
ReplyDeleteOh Julie, I am so glad to read your doing better. With the New Year I plan on losing the pounds I lost two years ago and gained back. I pretty much already started two weeks ago but I am so excited to say I have already lost 13 pounds but have a longer way to go, my goal is 130 and I am at 165 right now. I am going to make for of an effort to go to the gym, which will make it melt away faster than now.
ReplyDeleteI also want to do more scrapping and sewing for my family. I love to sew but never have time, now I will. After long consideration I have decided to give up my part time position as the Nursery Coordinator at our church, working full tme and part time was just too much on my family and did not give me much time to spend with our Heaveny Father on Sundays, although He is always with me daily in my prayers I just felt I was missing out on more.
Hope you have an awesome New Year and wonderful Blessings.

I want to try some techniques from Tim Holtz. I love what he does, and would like to give it an honest try...
ReplyDeleteI want to get a heat embosser (like April) and try it. I keep seeing all of these projects using it and it looks so cool.
ReplyDeleteGood luck in '10. I've already marked your blog as a favorite.
I want to get more organized!
ReplyDeleteI need to re-organize my scraproom. Thinking I might buy some shelving and that should really help keep things off the floor.
ReplyDeleteHi Julie, I'm so glad you're feeling better. That Apple gizmo looks like something we could use too! My laptop isn't the most reliable ... Hmmm...
ReplyDeleteSomething new for this year will be going back to work (part time) after being a SAHM for the past 6 years. I've been using the time to work towards my Interior Design Certificate and (fingers crossed) should be all done by this summer so ... time to find a job in my chosen field!! Yikes!
Best of luck in 2010!
So glad that you're figuring out the computer thing. My hard drive crashed this year, too, and I lost quite a few pics.
ReplyDeleteThis year I'm finally doing the picture a day project! I also want to cook more, preferably using healthier recipes:-)
Take care!
Oh Julie, you have been on my mind so much! I am so happy to read you are doing better! Glad you got something to back up your stuff with!! I caught your sketch and LO from Tara's email..love it!!
ReplyDeleteSomething I would like to do this year.. is to focus more on my family..my Husband and kids and not let the rest of my family and their negativity get me down. I am also going to try and scrap more. I agree.. it is GREAT therapy, which I have so needed lately too.
Keeping my fingers crossed on your hard drive!! Hugs to you!!
Julie - I am glad that there might be hope for your pictures. I am also glad that you are feeling better as well.
ReplyDeleteNew things to try -
Walking every day - right now it is only 2 miles every Monday and Friday.
Keeping an organized schedule so there is time for everything - including myself.
-Kristin
In 2010, I'm going to try (yet again) to get healthy and lose weight. I say it every year and always fail, but this year I have several friends taking the journey with me. I'm so thankful to have supportive friends. Best wishes to you, Julie, this new year.

Oooo Basic Grey goodness! Lovely!
ReplyDeleteGlad you found a backup thing - I need to do something too, I NEVER back up and have lost things, including photos in crashes in the past. You'd think I'd learn...

ReplyDeleteHappy 2010! I plan on being more patient this year (at least I'm gonna try REALLY hard!) I also want to learn how to use the Cricut Design Studio.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Julie
I've had a hard drive crash on me and it was quite devastating. I hope you're able to recover your data!
ReplyDeleteFor 2010, the new thing I'd like to try is blogging on a daily basis. I used to do this as a teenager w/pen and paper and I'd like to get back into the habit of reflecting on life through writing :)
I seriously want to try and drink a lot more water...
ReplyDeleteI hope you can get all your pictures off your hard drive, Julie!
ReplyDeleteFor 2010, I want to find new ways to use up my stash of scrapbooking stuff, get a lot of use from my Cricut, and actually ink up all those stamps I've collected and use them!
That layout is adorable!!! I just got some of those papers, now I just need to use them.
ReplyDeletehmmm....something new, I have never sewn on my layouts. I love the look, so I am going to do it soon. Thanks for all your scrappy inspiration.
A beautiful lo, an amazing sketch and blog candy...as always you have outdone yourself Julie, I am glad to hear you are doing better since I read your story you have been on my mind and in my heart! I hope you and your family are all well. I would like to find a new sketch challenge site this year....any idea's? I was so disapointed to hear your site was not continuing. I just loved the way it challenged me and was every week so my need to always have something to look forward to was met! I will truly miss it! Thank you for a wonderful year and the opportunity to get some great blog candy!
ReplyDeleteI want to learn how to cook new things. I broke my microwave, so I'm having to figure out how to make more home made stuff. Want to know how I broke it? I microwaved glitter. It was an accident, but DH laughs every time anyone says anything about the microwave.
ReplyDeleteI want to start working on a weekly menu plan. Now that I work full time at home, I'm in charge of cooking both lunch and dinner and the same things are getting a little worn out.
ReplyDeleteGreat layout and kit, I'm glad to see you taking steps to backup your files. I will keep my fingers crossed for your hard drive and that they are able to retrieve your pictures.
I want to try cooking nightly, that would be new to me.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, how i love that layout of yours! it is just amazing. I LOVE that photo!!! It all looks so beautifully retro coloured, too. Makes me happy :).
