** edited to add ending date of drawing below **

thank you . . . thank you . . . thank you . . . to ALL YOU WONDERFUL READERS of my little blog :) The comments & emails I received regarding my last post were SO SWEET & HEARTFELT & so VERY appreciated . . . I am doing much better & looking forward to a new "start" in 2010. We did a little investigating (thanks for all your suggestions) and will be sending my hard drive away to an computer forensic expert who will hopefully be able to save all those pics (fingers crossed). In the meantime - we are purchasing this (lesson learned folks):

An apple Time Capsule - this gadget wirelessly saves my files/docs onto an external source whenever I use my computer - if only I had this a week ago!!!!!!!!!

I did spend the last 2 days immersed in scrapping (very therapuetic I might add). Tara over at Magpie Club sent me this FABULOUS kit - so cheery I couldn't help but get excited.

Luckily I had printed off about 10 pics or so for a project I didn't quite get to before the holidays so I had something to work with. Here is the January sketch for Magpie Club:

And here is my take on it using Tara's kit - that is my little music man - playing the harmonica :)

Speaking of good times . . . what better way to remember them then a photo calendar :) I have 4 Basic Grey 2010 Photo Calendar kits to give away!!!! Check it out -

How can you win one of these awesome calendars - just comment with something "new" you want to try in 2010 - doesn't have to be scrappy related :) I will randomly draw 4 winners on Sunday :)

Thanks again everyone!!!

Thank you not only for the chance to win but also for your wonderful sketches which inspire me again and again.

  15. First off I hope you can recover your pictures. That's devastating. Something new...I want to learn more about the manual settings on my camera. I'm going to start playing around with it.

  16. Awesome layout Julie!!! Have to tell you...my computer crashed midday on Christmas while I was trying to transfer 8,000 pictures to a DVD. I had backed up my entire computer to my Time Capsule not two hours earlier (I don't have the wireless version...) so I was able to retrieve everything with the click of a couple buttons. Time Capsule ROCKS!!! You will LOVE it! And I really do have faith in the experts.

  19. I'm glad things are going better. What a week you had last week! This year I am trying the Fly Lady e-mail reminders to keep a better handle on my house (organization and cleaning). I tend to get a little overwhelmed!

  22. I'm so glad your feeling better emotionally! Like you scrapping lifts my soul! I'm in love with this sketch and I look forward to using it today while watching the bowl games and scraping!

I have two goals I want to do complete this year. Last year I started using chipboard mini albums as gifts. I also altered a box. I want to stretch myself a little further with chipboard mini albums and other altered paper crafts. The second is to attend AI school to save us dollars on AI work with the cattle!

Happy New Year to everyone and may you have a Blessed Year Julie!

  24. i lurk here. in 2010, i hope to come out of the woodwork and comment more, so here's my start. thanks for the chance at the BG RAK... one of my creative goals for 2010 is to use my sewing machine. i've had it for years and now i need to learn to use it (both on paper and on fabric). thanks for all the inspiration you've provided, and i hope 2010 is fabulous for you!

  25. Oh Julie, I am so glad to read your doing better. With the New Year I plan on losing the pounds I lost two years ago and gained back. I pretty much already started two weeks ago but I am so excited to say I have already lost 13 pounds but have a longer way to go, my goal is 130 and I am at 165 right now. I am going to make for of an effort to go to the gym, which will make it melt away faster than now.

I also want to do more scrapping and sewing for my family. I love to sew but never have time, now I will. After long consideration I have decided to give up my part time position as the Nursery Coordinator at our church, working full tme and part time was just too much on my family and did not give me much time to spend with our Heaveny Father on Sundays, although He is always with me daily in my prayers I just felt I was missing out on more.

Hope you have an awesome New Year and wonderful Blessings.

  33. Hi Julie, I'm so glad you're feeling better. That Apple gizmo looks like something we could use too! My laptop isn't the most reliable ... Hmmm...
Something new for this year will be going back to work (part time) after being a SAHM for the past 6 years. I've been using the time to work towards my Interior Design Certificate and (fingers crossed) should be all done by this summer so ... time to find a job in my chosen field!! Yikes!
    Best of luck in 2010!
